ultural Association of Children & Young Adults' Book Publishers is the unique cultural institute ever in Iran, established for private publishers.
It was founded in 1990 and has experienced a progressive movement in terms of number of members, published works, activities etc., so that it has enjoyed an impressive attendance in domestic cultural society every year, especially in the field of books for children and young adults.
In 2004 leaving all economic activities to our newly born unit called "Members' Co-operative Fund", we could increase our acceleration on our cultural and basic movements than ever.

Objectives:

Our main goals are as follows:

• Improving the quality of the childrens' & Young Adults' books.
• Improving the expertise of the relevant publishers in respect of understanding the readers' characteristics as well as approaching better and effective methods in publication scene.
• Regulating desired distribution for children's and teens' books.
• harmony and link Creating among the publishers, authors, illustrators, etc.
• Recognizing the obstacles and problems in the ground of study the children's & Young Adults' books; taking harmonized steps towards the elimination of these problems.
• Collaboration with cultural institutes, embassies and different organizations in terms of creating objective style of thinking for children and young adults so that they can approach a better future.

Organization and Management
Our association upon the approved articles of associations is running the board of directors, selected by general assembly; therefore, our practices are carried out of by the executive manager appointed by the board of directors. Our members not only contribute in official general assembly sessions, but also by attending at the monthly meetings, they both get to know our current activities in detail, and get chance to consult over the current problems of the children's and young adults' books, in order to find new methods in their specialized acts.

Work History

We have been not only the founder of certain cultural activities, but have also enjoyed the contribution in book-reading. Our major works could be overviewed as follows:

• Set up permanent and specialized showroom for children's & young adults' books, called "Members' Bookshop Of Cultural Association of the Child's & Young Adults' Book Publishers".
• Holding and contributing in specialized meetings regarding the problems of the children's & young adults' books.
• Contribution with the Ministry of Education for the first time to compile school books.
• Responsible to set up the children's and young adults' book fair as well as book celebration during the Book Week in 1997, 2000, 2002, 2003 and 2004.
• Planning and running the 100 Book Fair Project in 100 cities nationwide.
• Effective contribution in planning and starting Book city.
• Set up the first Student Specialized Book Fair in 1999.
• Execution of Book Fair Project in association with the organizations and big administrative, industrial and cultural institutions, such book fairs in Esfahan, Foulad Mobarakeh and Safaieh Town in association with Foolad Mobarakeh Complex, as well as other book fairs in SAPKO Co., etc.
• Foundation of Book Distribution Center to provide required facilities to present books to readers.
• Providing various projects to improve publishing and book-reading activities such as setting up the School of Publication.
• Practice the scientific researches regarding the issue of the children's & young adults' books.
• Set up the supporting institutions for publishers such as preparation and distribution the first materials for publication, welfare fund, etc.
• Links and co-ordinations with publishers' supporting institutions (Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance, Mosques Headquarters, cityhalls and the Ministry of Education, etc).
• Effective Presence in book fairs nationwide, such as Fair Book Week, book fairs in school, mosques, offices, parks, neighborhoods, etc.
• Designing, planning and running the first specialized Children's & Young Adults' Book Fair in association with the Tehran Cityhall at City Book.
• Effective collaboration with ministries and organizations, such as, Council of Culture and Industry, Police Social Deputy, etc.
• Some efforts to attend in Int. publication scene.
• Effective attendance at Int. Book Fairs.
• Innovative and practical planning to improve the cultural of book-reading (mobil fairs, mail, sales,etc.).

Members and Works
There are currently 58 book publication and training-aid tools institutes for children and young adults holding our membership, who have published over 8000 book-titles.
Therefore, we are happy to have a considerable part of the children's and teens' book publications nationwide. More over, as our members have always endeavoured to present appropriate works, a number of them have been repeatedly selected as the Publishers of the Year by the Ministry of Islamic Culture and Guidance, Ministry of Education an other scientific and cultural centers; and a remarkable number of our members' works have been awarded the prize of the best writing, illustration or publication in both domestic and worldwide prominent centers.
